In the 30s he left school in mid-course to learn drawing in the Kawahata Illustration School. His career was interrupted by the Sino-Japanese war and he went to the Chinese front, but he returned before the end of the war. Influenced by his famous cartoonist older brother Ryûichi Yokoyama, in 1950 Taizô published "Taizô Manga". In 1951 he created his most popular character, Puu-san ("Mr. Poo"), using with it a peculiar drawing technique. In 1953 Puu-san was converted into a live-action film in which Taizô and Ryûichi did a little cameo. Its director, Kon Ichikawa, was so impressed with him that he hired Taizô as a scriptwriting consultant for his following film "A Billionaire". From 1954 to 1992 Yokoyama focused on satirical comics for the "Asashi Shinbun".- Writer

After leaving school in mid-course, he joined Tatsunoko animation studio in the mid-1960s, writing scripts for the TV series "Ora Guzura Dado" (1967-68, a parody of Gojira films) and The Genie Family (1969) (1969-70).
At the end of the 1960s, he joined Tokyo Movie animation studio and collaborated in the adaptation of the comedic Kyojin no hoshi (1969) for theaters. That was his film debut in 1970, and he made more than a dozen film scripts until 1994. Also, he worked on more than 30 animation and live-action TV series. In addition, Itô has written several novels and scripts for comics, the most popular of them is "Otoko Kuiri" ("Male Eater"), drawn by Tsuguo Kôgo and converted in two live-action videofilms in 1996.- Michi Yamazaki was born on 11 September 1979 in Kochi Prefecture, Japan.
